I believe that each of us has an innate, guiding wisdom within us and accompanying this — the ability to heal, grow, and transform. In our work together, my focus is to help you gain ever-increasing access to your own inner wisdom so that you can create the life you want. It is my privilege to accompany you on an enriching journey to heal the pain of the past, resolve what isn’t working in the present, and create new possibilities for your future.
I bring openness, compassion, intuition, and wisdom gained through experience to my therapy work in a manner that is heartfelt, warm, and accepting. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, supportive, and protected environment for you and to assisting you to find your own authentic path of fulfillment.
I approach therapy from a collaborative and integrative standpoint, believing that mind, body, and soul are connected. I invite you to incorporate dreams, drawing, sandtray, writing, and meditation into your work with me.
I believe that our self-image and our relationships with others are deeply influenced by the experiences we had in our childhood. Repeatedly, I find that some of the beliefs about ourselves, formed during those early years, shape our present experiences. As you reach within and face the wounds and pain of childhood, wounds can be healed and you can discover and nurture your authentic self – that complex and unique being that you truly are.
A psychotherapist at our Center since 2010, I work with adults and couples from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Originally from Colombia, I know first-hand the experience of transplanting oneself to a new country and a new culture. I also moved from the east coast to the west to pursue my graduate studies and am deeply familiar with the issues created by relocating – whether nationally or internationally.
I am a Licensed Clinical Staff Member at the Center, as well as a Supervisor in our Therapist Training Program. I work with the full range of issues that people bring to therapy.
Particular issues I am skilled at working with are:
- Anxiety, depression, and stress
- Low self-esteem
- Grief, loss, and transitions
- Codependency
- Inner child issues stemming from distressed, dysfunctional, addictive, or abusive families
- Panic attacks
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Infertility
- Post-partum depression
- Alcohol or drug use concerns
- Domestic violence
- Love and relationship addictions
- Workaholism and other addictions
- Relationship struggles and divorce
- Betrayal and infidelity
- Cultural, racial, and ethnic differences
