Orientation Statement
“I [am writing] to let you know just how liberating and life-changing the program was for me.”
Written by a graduate almost three years after completing our Program, this outcome is echoed repeatedly by our graduates. Results are long-lasting and life-changing because we uncover and resolve the core issues in your life.
How You Got To Be the Way You Are — And How Our 20-Week Program Frees You from the Binds of the Past
When as children we are targeted with – or witness to – emotional or verbal abuse, physical or sexual abuse, neglect or abandonment, we lose our real self – that trusting, free, creative self we were born to be. Instead, to survive and cope in our family, that real self goes into hiding, and an outer or adaptive self takes over and creates a life of people-pleasing, caretaking, and codependency, or isolation and avoidance.
We go into “survival mode” and:
- lose touch with our real needs and real feelings
- experience depression, anxiety, and chronic stress
- feel like we don’t really belong
- live lives of “quiet desperation” or act out in destructive ways
- aren’t able to set healthy boundaries
- don’t take care of ourselves in relation to others
In this survival mode, we lose the ability to feel grounded and present in the moment, have difficulty making decisions or feeling connected to a sense of inner guidance, purpose, or wholeness. Our creativity, spontaneity, and natural joy are impaired. Our skill in building and sustaining nurturing relationships is often seriously affected.
When we’re caught up in survival mode as a way to navigate in life, here’s what we experience:
- diminished self-esteem
- negatively affected relationships
- distorted communication
- blocked career progress
- impaired intimacy
- lack of serenity, inner peace, and connection to your spiritual self
Until we have the opportunity to grow beyond defense mechanisms (flight, fight, freeze, fawn), we’re always reacting, instead of responding, and we develop codependent patterns to cope:
- people-pleasing
- isolating
- minimizing
- judgement of self and others
- difficulty making decisions
- feeling flawed, defective, empty and lonely
- consistently sacrificing one’s own needs to meet the needs of others
- need to control others and self
- inability to enjoy life
- repetitively unsatisfying or destructive relationships
- diminished or nonexistent sense of inner peace and spirituality
In our 20-Week Group Intensive Program, you learn how to heal your past, replace your survival mode with resilient thriving, and transform your future. You learn to develop and sustain healthy, intimate relationships, recover your self-esteem, and restore your ability to create and achieve.
Working together in our Program’s supportive and non-shaming group setting, you are empowered to:
- Heal toxic shame and childhood wounds
- Release feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt
- Recover your inner child and authentic self
- Establish healthy boundaries
- Learn communication skills that create safety and intimacy
- Create relationships where truth can be spoken, feelings can be expressed, and trust can exist
- Free yourself from painful relationships with parents, partners, and family members
- Experience inner peace, sense of purpose, and connection to your spirituality
Designed for people who wish to create authentic, nurturing, and enduring relationships in life, our approach is to identify and heal the wounds of our past and to learn to emotional tools that allow you to create relationships in the present with our self and others.
Recovery is possible. Through non-shaming therapy and group support, you can transform low self-esteem, fear of abandonment, and anxiety into recovery of your true self and experience authenticity and serenity
At the heart of the process are shame reduction exercises, as well as original pain and inner child therapy work, and methods to repair our traumatized relationship with our self.
Methods include:
- experientially-oriented education
- assertiveness training
- development of healthy boundaries
- self-image work
- guided imagery
- powerful psychodramas
With facilitators trained by the John Bradshaw Center, the Center for Creative Growth has provided this powerful group intensive program to over one thousand people in California since 1991.
Conducted in a caring, non-shaming, and nurturing manner, our Program creates the necessary environment for deep healing to occur. With a maximum of 11 participants, over the course of 20 sessions, you experience a three-stage process that guides you through uncovery, discovery, and recovery.
The power of doing this work on a weekly basis, in the company of the same supportive companions, allows you to have the time to integrate the deep processes experienced in each group session, practice the new life skills that are taught, and be ready to absorb the next layer of healing — all of which blend together to create deep-rooted change in you.
We welcome you to step into this healing journey out of the pain of the past
and into the transformation of your future

Financial Information
Our 20-Week Group Intensive Program costs $2,500.00 for the entire program, which includes twenty 3-hour group sessions, plus one individual therapy session with the group facilitator, Daniel Lensy, that you can schedule at your request anytime during the course of the program. To reserve a place in this Program, you either pay in full, in half, or make an initial deposit of $500.00. If you pay an initial deposit of $500.00, you would then make four more payments of $500.00 monthly during the course of the Program. If this plan poses a financial hardship, we also have an Extended Payment Plan option: the total cost of the Program ($2,500.00) stays the same, but the monthly payments are extended over a longer period of time, up to six months after the end of the Program.
If you have health insurance, your plan might cover part of the cost. Some insurance plans cover group therapy.
