I believe that the magic of psychotherapy comes when we explore together the layers of your experience. When you are mirrored – really mirrored – with our mutual compassion for you, our mutual intelligence, and our mutual creativity, healing can happen. Then your next step appears to you, and becomes more doable in your life. Participating in all this is a great joy for me. I see myself as a catalyst who helps you to be with, heal, and grow in the areas of life that are most important to you, including all your relationships, your career, and the quality of your time with yourself.
As a seasoned and creative therapist with over 30 years experience, I have been providing expert and professional counseling with a specialty in these areas:
- Accessing and sustaining positive aspects of yourself and your abilities
- Self-acceptance and self-compassion, and compassion for others
- Inner resourcing and resiliency
- Working through obstacles to your healing and growth
- Non-hurtful, empowered, and skillful communication in all kinds of relationships
- Enhancing boundary setting skills
- Grief, loss, and transitions
- Adult children of dysfunctional families
- Addictive and compulsive patterns
- Multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, LGBTQQI, and other diversity issues and goals
- Exploration of personal purpose and spiritual growth
To assist you to achieve your goals, I skillfully, safely, and compassionately use a wide range of experiential psychotherapies. These include:

Group therapy is a special passion of mine. I have witnessed the power of group therapy, what I call “the magic of group,” create some of the most profound healing and change. Transforming your life by learning to communicate and relate to others in ways that liberate you from the baggage of the past is a miracle that occurs weekly in the groups I lead. In both kinds of groups that I facilitate at the Center, in our Living Life Fully ongoing group with an initial 12-week commitment, and in our 20-week Healing Your Past – Transforming Your Future Group Intensive Program, you will participate in a safe, non-shaming space that promotes deep healing, deep connection, and deep transformation. In addition to facilitating these groups, I work with individuals (both adult and children), couples, and families and serve as the Clinical Training Director at our counseling center. I have been a staff therapist at CCG since the Center started in 1982. Additionally, as an Adjunct Faculty member at the John F. Kennedy University Graduate School of Holistic Studies, I teach courses in Somatic Group Process, Development, Community Psychology, Partner Abuse, Elder Care, and Clinical Hypnotherapy.
